  • G Parameshwara said serious complaints will be examined to ensure a fair and transparent system for candidates

Bengaluru, 4 March

Amid allegations of irregularities in the KPSC Mains examination and selection process, State Minister G Parameshwara stated that the government would investigate the matter and ensure a fair system for candidates. He added that it would be better if issues were addressed promptly within the Karnataka Public Service Commission.

Questions have been raised about the transparency of the selection process following the results for Gazetted Probationers (Group A and B) for 384 posts. Allegations include that over 10 to 15 candidates with consecutive serial numbers, seated together at the same exam centre, have cleared the exam. Some candidates from the same family are also believed to have qualified.

The Home Minister acknowledged complaints against KPSC and KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority), stating, “If the complaints are as serious as alleged, we will examine them and ensure a fair system for candidates.” He noted that despite previous reforms, responsibility must be taken if irregularities persist.

Sources indicate the results have shortlisted candidates for the interview stage, with some demanding a proper probe and withholding of results to ensure justice.

BJP leader BY Vijayendra said his party would raise the issue in the upcoming Assembly session.
